At the WK Hearth we apply the central idea of “Eat, Drink, Simply” to Italian cuisine. With our brick oven and cozy atmosphere provided by our location in the historic Cole Farmhouse we have created the comfort and authentic hospitality of an Italian country villa, where the kitchen and hearth is the heart of the home.

Executive Chef -

General Manager – Lauren Barrett

Lauren Barrett grew up in a military family, allowing her to experience and travel the country a young person. She moved to Northern Virginia in 2000 and found a permanent home here in  beautiful Loudoun County. Lauren entered into the restaurant industry in 1998 and has worked in all areas of this business. She completed her culinary Arts Degree in 2013 in McLean, VA, with honors, giving her the opportunity to work in fine dining kitchens under experienced chefs. Her management experience began in 2011 at a highly acclaimed fine dining restaurant in Southwest, VA. After returning to the Wine Kitchen, Lauren joined us as general manager of the WK Hearth after being with the company for over three years.

Executive Sous Chef – Steve Ferrell

After growing up in Jefferson Maryland Steve graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2008.  Steve has been cooking professionally for over 14 years, most recently before joining WK Hearth at LJ’s & the Cat Lounge.  Steve brings his commitment to using fresh ingredients to create unique and delicious dishes.  If not in the kitchen, Steve is most likely at in the country working on his house and garden.

Pastry/Sous Chef – Brandon Moser

Brandon grew up in a military family and had the chance to experience different cultures and cuisines from across the Country.   After graduating from the culinary school at the Art Institute of Washington, Brandon moved to Orvieto Italy to work in an acclaimed restaurant.  Once he returned to the US, Brandon worked at a restaurant in DC before joining the WK family.  Brandon brings his skills and passion for food to the WK Hearth’s desserts and larger menu.
